Our program serves families who live in the two counties located south of the Bay Area peninsula, and next to the surrounding counties of San Mateo to the north and Santa Cruz to the west. There is a total population of 1,860,074 residents in Santa Clara County and 57,271 residents in San Benito County.
We strongly believe that parent, family, and community engagement are essential elements to the child's development and emotional well-being. We continue an ongoing focus on the implementation of the Parent, Family & Community Engagement (PFCE) Framework, which includes training for Family Advocates, teaching and administrative staff. Parent engagement provides our program with strong ties essential to our communities, classrooms and families.
Our Center Based Service
We offer full day (8.5 hours), full year center based services to families at Educare (241 days). We have full day (8.5 hours) centers open from mid August to mid July (208 days). Our part day classrooms offer 3.5 hours in the morning or 3.5 hours in the afternoon 4 days a week from mid August to mid May.
Our Home Based Service
We have started our expansion of services for children birth to three years in a home-based model. The home-based philosophy is based on the belief that success begins in the home setting. By enhancing family successes, the home-based option provides for broader learning experiences to promote family health and development.
Children and families receive weekly home visits with a home-based educator who provides comprehensive services in the family's home. Children and families in this program also get together two times per month for a socialization gathering at a center- based, classroom setting.
